Kerry Cochran
Writing and publishing children’s stories has been my ambition for over 30 years, which also coincides with the number of years I was a primary school teacher and an early childhood educator. Reading for enjoyment, to stimulate children’s creativity, and facilitate parent/child quality time together was, and should be, the purpose of children’s books. However, increasingly those simple pleasures are considered not enough. The education curriculum expects children to critically analyze what they are reading, to consider author purpose, and to reflect on language features in the stories.
At Tales End Publishing we aim to create stories which both stir the imagination and meet ever-increasing educational requirements. On a personal level, I aim to publish books which little people will love to read over and over again. I am proud to be part of a team which is passionate about children’s literature.

I’ve had a natural artistic flair from an early age and have found it essential to my sanity to be able to release this creativity in some way, shape or form. I’ve had ‘sensible’ mainstream jobs for most of my working life but finally, now my children are older, I’ve been able to indulge in more creative avenues of employment such as commissioned works and illustrating children’s books. I am thoroughly enjoying this new journey and look forward to many adventures along the way. I don’t mind saying that it is an absolute pleasure to ‘do what you love and love what you do’!
